Once again a cohort of swimmers from Wells Swimming Club qualified for the ASA South West Region Summer Championships, which was held at Plymouth, Hengrove and Millfield.
Cameron Taylor making his regional debut swam the grueling 800m free in a time of 11:46.06 to finish in 11th place. He managed to obtain a PB of over 1 second in the 100m free to finish a creditable 31st in a large field.
Masie Banwell swam well in both the 200m IM and 100m back to finish in 18th and 15th place respectively in highly competitive fields.
Edie Richardson making her second appearance at regionals swam determinedly in the 50m breaststroke to post a time of 42.32 and finish in 49th place.
Unfortunately Declan Truan-Thatcherwho once again qualified for both the 50m free and fly was unable to compete due to ill health.
Also from Wells, Seth Allom achieved a good consideration time in 50m fly but just missed out on regional qualification.
Head Coach Eli Meyers was proud of all the Wells swimmers who gained qualification or consideration times for regionals.He said the swimmers who competed produced awesome swimming.
